Fire Service visit

Published: 5 Feb '25

What a thrill for the younger children in the school when a fire engine arrived in the front playground!

India and Italy classes were so excited to learn about all the different ways in which the fire service can help in an emergency. After an introduction to the tools and hoses carried by the appliance, they took turns to sit inside the cabin and then watched as they were given a demonstration of the power of a fire hose - the 1800 litres of water in the tank only lasts for 18 minutes, or 9 minutes if they are using the hoses on both sides!

Thank you so much to the Storrington-based crew for giving up their time to demonstrate their engine's equipment to our children.
