Today we welcomed the SPLASH! team to our worship. The children met Mary and Joseph as they looked for room at the inn – there wasn’t any! We then met the shepherds and discussed the birth of Jesus. As you can imagine, they were overwhelmed when Jesus arrived. There was a treasure box called ‘The true meaning of Christmas’, but the keys did not fit. We hunted for the key and then the key fitted and inside were some articles which reminded us of the hope, joy and peace of Christmas. The Bible reference said, ‘May the God of Hope fill you with all the joy and peace as you trust in him’. We sang together and prayed. The children loved the worship and commented afterwards that ‘Jesus is the key to Christmas’.
