This week we took part in Drop Everything and Read (D.E.A.R.), a national initiative designed to promote literacy by pausing activities to read for pleasure. It encourages schools, families, and individuals to set aside 10 minutes to read without tests or reports, fostering a love for reading and improving reading skills and well-being. When the airhorn sounded, everyone, children and staff, stopped what they were doing and picked up their book.
