As part of their WW2 studies, Yr 6 recreated a dish that would have been familiar to their great-grandparents – Lord Woolton’s pie.
This was a dish containing cauliflower, carrots, parsnips, potatoes and spring onions – all vegetables that could have been grown at home during the war. It was covered with a crust made of pastry and mashed potato. It was surprisingly tasty!
