Pollination Station

Published: 10 Jun '26

We were delighted that on Monday 8th June, as part of the Climate Coalition’s Great Big Green Week, Sussex Green Living (SGL), together with our Eco Council, installed a Pollination Education Station (PES) in the school grounds.

Funded through a Tesco Blue Token grant, the PES is a purpose-built habitat made from reclaimed pallet wood to support bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. It features pollinator-friendly planters (“the kitchen”), a habitat cabinet filled with natural materials for nesting and shelter (“the bedrooms”), and an educational plaque with a QR code linking to helpful resources on pollinator conservation. SGL has already installed over 40 stations across East and West Sussex, helping schools and communities connect with nature and support biodiversity.

Our PES will serve as a wonderful outdoor classroom, supporting environmental education, pupil wellbeing, and local nature recovery. A huge thank you to all families who helped gather natural materials—your contributions will make our pollinators feel right at home!
