Science Week - Thailand class

Published: 11 Mar '25

Thailand class has been working hard in Science week.

We discussed what Skittles were made of and what might happen. We learned the words ‘dissolve’ and ‘diffuse’ and discussed how the sugar dissolves and moves into the water to make it the same sugaryness all over.  We can't see it, but when we compared a new Skittle with one in the experiment we could see a difference. We linked this to our home lives with mummy and daddy having sugar in their tea. We can't see it, but we know it's there because we can taste it. It has dissolved. We also learnt how the colours of the sweet melt and diffuse through the water. We sang the rainbow song and talked about keeping healthy and not eating too many Skittles. Then we tried a couple each. They were delicious!
