Key Stage 2 were treated to an online author event via Zoom with the best-selling writer Hannah Gold this morning. Hannah is well-known for her eco-conservation themed novels, including ‘The Last Bear’, ‘The Lost Whale’ and ‘Finding Bear’. Hannah spoke to the children about her ambition to become an author from a young age and explained how the process of story-writing comes to life through layers and drafts. We found out that her latest book - Turtle Moon - was inspired by her pet tortoise Arthur!
We were also lucky to hear from Clare Atkinson, a sea turtle conservationist, and Levi Pinfold, the illustrator of Hannah's books, who joined the meeting from Australia! In addition to hearing about Hannah's books, the children learnt a range of fascinating facts about sea turtles. What an inspiring morning!
