We were delighted to welcome Helen Peters, the well-known children’s author, to the school on Thursday this week to talk about 'The Great Farm Rescue', the final book in her trilogy ‘The Secret Hen House Theatre’, which is based on her own childhood on a farm in East Sussex. Her recent tale, ‘Friends and Traitors’ which is set during WW2, was short-listed for the TVEd Book Awards 2024 and was a Guardian Summer Books Pick. She kept our KS2 children enthralled with her passion for writing and there were many interesting questions at the end of her talk. We are so grateful that she was able to give up her time to come and enthuse our children. We look forward to reading the work that they produce!
