SIAMS Report

As a church-aided school we also have a SIAMS inspection which focuses on the characteristics of the school as a church school.  The SIAMS report stated that the distinctiveness and effectiveness of St. Mary’s as a church school was outstanding.

 

 
The Arts Council - Silver Artsmark

This award recognises the importance that we place on teaching the full range of arts based subjects either in the classroom, during dedicated Art Days or in after school clubs.

The Bishop's Commendation

The Bishop's Commendation was awarded to St. Mary's in 2008 for "promoting Christian values through creativity and peace by developing the school grounds".

St Mary's has been awarded Fairtrade School status.

Healthy Schools

St. Mary's has achieved Healthy Schools Status.  This award recognises the work we do to promote our pupil's health in four main areas:

  • Personal, social, health and economic (PSHE) education, including SRE and drugs education
  • Healthy eating
  • Physical education
  • Emotional health and well-being, including bullying

International School Award

We are very proud to have been awarded the International School Award.  This recognises all of the work that the school has been doing to raise the children's awareness of other countries and cultures around the world.  The assessor said "Please send our special congratulations to the international co-ordinator at the school who has worked so hard to co-ordinate such an impressive range of work. They are a credit to the school and the wider community."
