Football at Tanbridge

The Year 6 girls' football team travelled to Tanbridge House on Friday for the first of three rounds of matches in the Horsham Primary Schools Football League.

After a close 0-0 draw in their opening game against Leechpool B, the girls registered their first win of the afternoon with an excellent 2-1 win against Shelley. Scarlett H and Rowan S combined brilliantly to score a goal apiece. The girls made it two wins from two with a 1-0 victory over Kingslea B, with Olivia A scoring the decisive goal. Their final game of the afternoon was their toughest yet against a good Castlewood side. Although the girls went 2-0 down, Scarlett H was able to break free at the end and score a consolation goal, her second goal of the afternoon.

An excellent start to the league has placed the girls in fifth place out of thirteen teams. There will be tougher games to come, but the girls will go into the next round of matches with great confidence and momentum.
Well done to the whole squad - Poppy G (c), Olivia A, Martha B, Rowan S, Scarlett H, Lexi A, Anais B, Anna E, Taya E.
