Posada - USA to Ireland

15th December 2020
Every year during Advent, the school community observes the Posada - this custom originated in Hispanic countries to celebrate the nativity story, Posada is a period of time during Advent when figures from the nativity story travel around different classrooms in the school and stay there for one night. Here we have photos of USA class passing on the Holy Family to Ireland class . The 'passing' class says a short prayer, which is echoed by the 'receiving' class. It is a marvellously seasonal event and one which helps to remind the children that Christmas is not just about presents and chocolates.
