The children in Yrs 5 and 6 were thrilled to have the opportunity of a Zoom drawing class with the illustrator of Michael Bond's Paddington books, Bob Alley. Mr Alley began by giving them a demonstration of how he starts sketching a character (using pale blue pencil) then makes any changes, such as changing the head position (using red pencil), and when he is happy with the end result, he finishes with a black pencil. He never uses a rubber! Once the children had got the idea, they created their own characters and drew them, following his tips. We are so grateful to Mr Alley for giving us his time for this wonderful experience, even more so as he was in the USA and it was 6am for him!
