This week our Year 5 children took part in a Greek Day. The children wore a wonderful array of costumes to school. They took part in a wide variety of activities such as mask making, making Greek food and learning about the Greek alphabet. The day culminated with the Greek Olympics and a buffet with pitta bread, tzatziki, humous, koftas, Greek salad, olives and vine leaves. In preparation for the day the children had already thought about what they wanted to learn and this was a brilliant way to engage them in their new topic and to get them to develop their thinking.
