Greek Art

As part of their topic on Ancient Greece, Years 5 and 6 have been learning about Ancient Greek black-figure pottery, which was first produced in Corinth around 700BC and dominated the Mediterranean pottery market for the next 200 years. The Ancient Greek pots and vases represent Greek mythology, religious, social and sporting practices. The size, shape and decorations developed over time. Early decorations used simple lines and grooves; as time went on, the designs included more intricate zigzag patterns and geometric shapes.
