Visit to Pulborough Brooks

We are fortunate to have RSPB Pulborough Brooks so near to St. Mary’s School. It is a haven for a huge range of species, and has varied habitats to explore and get closer to nature. On Wednesday U.K. and Austria spent the day at Pulborough Brooks. The weather was kind to us and we had a wonderful day. Both classes spent time at the pond where there's an unseen world of amazing wildlife ready to be discovered. In the woods the children were encouraged to touch, listen, see and smell. When children are engaged in learning about science and nature, they are also learning strategies for active exploration, thinking and reasoning and developing working theories for making sense of the natural, social, physical and material worlds around them. I would like to thank the staff at Pulborough Brooks who made such an effort to engage with the children. Mrs. Huntley-Hart and I would also like to thank our parents who accompanied us.
