Sports Week 2019

A huge thank you to all the amazing volunteers who gave up their time to come and help with coaching sessions across the school for Sports Week this year. There were different events throughout the school, giving all the children a wide range of new activities to try - KS2 children tried netball, Yr 3 experienced a variety of Paralympic sports, including wheelchair football and boccia, Arundel Petanque Club helped the children with petanque, and we also had a go at New Age Kurling. Classes across the school had coaching from West Chiltington Cricket Club, improving their batting by playing diamond cricket and using the 'lobster' machine to practise cathcing from a distance. Years 5 and 6 were lucky enough to have golf coaches come in to instruct them in playing tri-golf and the KS2 classes were taken to the Pulborough Lawn Bowls Club to try their hands on the bowling green there. we are so grateful to all who helped give the children such a fantastic range of sporting opportunities throughout the week.

Our roving reporter, William O, filed this report:

Monday 24th June - Friday 28th June - Sports Week
From Monday to Friday last week, classes throughout the school participated in Sports Week. The biggest event in the week was probably KS2 Sports Day, but KS1 still enjoyed various sports like cricket and golf. Other sports included bowls and wheelchair football. Congratulations to Blue team who emerged victorious in KS2 Sports Day.
