Little Life-savers

Year 5 were given the opportunity to learn some life saving skills this week.  A representative from 'Little Life Savers' came to the school and showed the children how to perform CPR, how to place someone in the recovery position and how to perform the Heimlich manoeuvre which can save someone from choking. 

It was amazing to hear that following training given to children in other schools they have had at least three lives saved by children administering the Heimlich manoeuvre safely and with success.

Please note that the Heimlich manoeuvre and CPR should never be practised by the children on their friends for fun.
