On Sunday 15 September, a number of our pupils travelled down to the Arun Leisure Centre in Bognor to participate in the KidsTriUK triathlon. Mrs Treadwell went along to support them and this is her report:
"I went along to support the St Mary's triathletes at a competition yesterday. Gosh, I am so proud of all of them. I hope there is an opportunity for them to share their news. The children competed as individuals, but cheered and supported their teammates! They all have a story to tell. William O found it challenging but didn't give up. Mae E competed in the advanced class and held her own against older athletes. Jessie N was fastest swimmer and runner in her class, finishing 2nd overall. Callie N, 2nd fastest swimmer and, digging deep, competed in the 11-14 novices. Max T was 2nd overall in his section, a strong all-round performance against more experienced triathletes. Luke T was 2nd overall in his section with a particularly strong run."
