EWA Fund-raising update #2

Year 6 continued to make great strides with their fundraising for Education West Africa last week. Our hamper raffle at the evening performances of Oliver raised a total of £196 - a huge thank you to everyone who contributed prizes and purchased tickets. In addition to this, we raised a further £47 on sales of sweet cones. Many thanks to the PTA for donating these. Added to the money raised from last month's jewellery sale, we have raised an impressive total of £413 so far.

Both Year 6 classes also took part in a sponsored swim last Thursday. Despite experiencing some challenging weather conditions, they amazed the staff with their teamwork, perseverance and determination, swimming a total of 1953 lengths (24,412.5 metres) altogether. We will update you with the total raised by this event next week when all sponsorship money has been returned. A huge thank you to Mrs Treadwell and her team for challenging the children to do their very best - this is a phenomenal achievement!
