As part of their topic on Ancient Egypt, Sierra Leone and USA classes welcomed two representatives from Horsham Museum with a selection of Egyptian artefacts. The children have already been learning about life and death in Ancient Egypt, including the processes of mummification, Egyptian gods and the building of pyramids. The children were able to discuss the different social levels of Egyptian society, their clothing and jewellery and what they ate. They also tried their hands at writing their names using hieroglyphs. Many of the children had dressed up as Egyptian gods, pharaohs and we even had a couple of mummies!
