Yr 3 studies Giacometti

As part of their topic 'Tremors', which relates to all things volcanic, Yr 3 studied the sculptor Alberto Giacometti. He is renowned for his thin, angular human figures, which bear a remarkable similarity to the figures found at Pompeii following the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79AD. These casts were formed by the pyroclastic flow from Mt Vesuvius, which trapped the residents as they tried to escape.
