Ofsted Inspection Report 2015

Mrs Heath's comments to parents about the report:

I am pleased to read the many, many positives and I wish to put on record my thanks to all my staff and governors who work so hard for the benefit of the children in this school. I also wish to thank you, the parents, who have supported the school via letters or Parentview over the past few years; this support means a great deal to me. Please be assured that, over the summer term, my attention will be focussed on the key areas for development.

As many of you are aware, the Ofsted inspection bar has been raised considerably over the last five years. The rigour of the inspection is intense and the process is now more data driven.  Therefore I am very pleased with the outcome and delighted with the grading of Outstanding for Early Years and the Safeguarding element.

The key issues raised are already being addressed in that the school is developing the middle leadership of the school as it grows into a two-form entry. We are constantly challenging our children to achieve the very best that they can and this will continue. We are aware that in many cases our children have beautiful handwriting, but this must be seen across all areas of the curriculum and not just in handwriting lessons and display work. To this end a review of our handwriting policy is currently being undertaken.

The children were a credit to the school and to you as parents; the inspectors commented most favourably to me how positive the children were and how knowledgeable they were about their learning.
