Children in Year Five were very excited when a team from WSCC came to school to film them for a promotional video asking the astronaut, Tim Peake, to visit schools in West Sussex.
Tim Peake captured the nation’s hearts and imaginations with his recent successful mission into space. Not only is he the first British European Space Agency astronaut, he is from our very own patch, West Sussex! Chichester City Council is soon to present Tim with the ‘Freedom of the City’ in a special ceremony.
In conjunction with this event, a video invitation has been created to ask Tim to a special conversation with young people in West Sussex to share his journey. If the invitation is accepted, 250 young people will be invited to The Council Chamber at County Hall, Chichester to hear Tim speak and it will be webcast live so all schools can take part.
