A Hands-on Approach
As a governing body we believe that we can make more informed decisions about issues which affect the school and the children if we get involved in day-to-day school life as much as possible.
Several of our members work at St. Mary's and therefore have an inside track on the running of the school. However many of our other governors have demanding jobs and busy lives outside the school. Even so they still make a very great effort to involve themselves in as many school events as possible as you can see from the pictures below. We also organise one "governors' visit day" each half term where as many of us as possible spend the day in school working in the classrooms and getting to know the children.
